West Point Cadet Faces Porn Charges

WEST POINT - A cadet at the U.S. Military Academy has been charged with possessing child pornography, the academy's public affairs office said.

Justin L. Burth, an upperclassman, will face a court martial today. Burth is charged with three counts of possessing materials depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct and three charges of possession of child pornography.

The charges were presented at a pretrial hearing in September and were referred to a general court martial by the academy's superintendent in October, the public affairs office said.

Members of the military are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
