Officer is Arrested After Domestic Fight

Poughkeepsie Journal

NEW WINDSOR - A City of Newburgh Police Officer was arrested Saturday after he allegedly fired a round from his service pistol into a wall of his home during a domestic dispute, according to Town of New Windsor Police. No one was hurt.

Robert Harris, 38, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, a felony, and three counts of misdemeanor menacing.

Police said Harris pointed his gun, a 9mm Sig Sauer, at his wife Jessica, and her brother, Justin Kracht, several times. Also at home at the times was Harris's 12-year-old daughter and 8-week-old son and neighbor, Douglas Giogino, police said.

Harris was arraigned and sent to Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail or a $15,000 bond, officials said.
