SEX ACT COSTS CORRECTION OFFICER HER JOB
FISHKILL -- A state correction officer was fired after she pleaded guilty last week to a sexual encounter with an inmate, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office said.
Jennifer Wiley, 28, of Jefferson County, an officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility, engaged in ''physical touching of a sexual nature'' with a 34-year-old male inmate at the facility in June 2003, said Frank Petramale, a senior assistant district attorney.
Prison officials didn't hear about the encounter until December, when the inmate was questioned in an unrelated investigation.
Wiley, who made $40,270 a year, admitted to the encounter and was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation. She was ordered to pay a $300 fine and resign from her job. Petramale said there was no allegation of force used on Wiley's behalf and the encounter appeared to be consensual.
Wiley had been employed with the state Department of Correctional Services since 1999.
